In just 13 days, Pathaan has crossed the lifetime collections of the Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 2. Post pandemic, the Yash starrer was the biggest grosser when it came to Hindi releases and had netted Rs. 434.70 crores. Now Pathaan has gone ahead of that score by bringing in Rs. 438.65 crores*. That has been made possible with Rs. 8.75 crores* more that came on Monday, which is a good hold considering it’s in the whereabouts of 40% and that too on reduced ticket prices. Of course, while KGF: Chapter 2 (Hindi) has been crossed by Pathaan, it’s with support from around R.s 16 crores that have come from the dubbed versions as well. Otherwise if one counts the dubbed collections of the Yash starrer as well then the overall numbers would be really huge. Hence, in terms of just the Hindi versions to be mapped, then it will take three more days for Pathaan to reach there and hence by Thursday even just the original version of the Shah Rukh Khan led Pathaan will surpass the dubbed Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 2. All said and done, 2023 has started on a rollicking note with the first big release, and now the stage has been set for other biggies to consolidate on this platform. For Bollywood to recover, at least three to five films need to do at least half the business of Pathaan my middle of year and once that happens then one can Co confidently state that ‘achche din’ are indeed back. *Estimates.
