Seo In Guk Steps Down From Film After Production Halts Due To COVID-19 And Investment Issues
The upcoming film “Hip Daddy” (literal title) has halted production due to the current COVID-19 pandemic as well as issues with investors.
On April 2, a source from the film’s production company, BA Entertainment, told TV Report, “In the midst of an already-difficult situation with COVID-19, we have also had problems with investors, so we have decided to take a break for a time. About three weeks ago, we had discussions about meeting again either in the second half of this year or sometime next year. All the crew and cast members, including Seo In Guk, have stepped down due to scheduling conflicts. We will also be holding off on further casting. Casting will take place at a later date.”
“Hip Daddy” is a film about a single mother who became pregnant via sperm donation. When her child becomes critically ill and needs a transplant, she sets out to track down the sperm donor. Previously, Seo In Guk and Soo Ae were reported to be in talks for the film. Jeon Do Yeon was also rumored to be in talks, but this was later denied.
Recently, Yoo Seung Ho also stepped down from a film after it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

‘I Live Alone' Seo In Guk Talks About The Rumor With Jung Eun Ji
Seo In Guk strongly refused his scandal with Jung Eun Ji through 'I Live Alone'.
On March 22nd, MBC 'I Live Alone' showed DEFCON, No Hong Cheol, Lee Sung Jae, Seo In Guk, Kim Gwang Kyu, and Kim Tae Won talking about the rumors and scandals they've been involved into.
During the broadcast, DEFCON said to Seo In Guk, "I heard a lot about the rumor that you are in a relationship with Jung Eun Ji. I heard you started your relationship in a recording studio." Then, Lee Sung Jae said, "I called him right after I heard the rumor from my friend, and asked about."

Seo In Guk In Talks To Star As Lead Of New MBC Action Thriller
Seo In Guk may be starring in a new MBC drama!
On March 4, Sports Kyunghyang reported that Seo In Guk would be starring in MBC’s new drama “Smoking Gun” (literal title) as the lead.
Following reports, sources related to Seo In Guk clarified, “The casting is not confirmed, and he is in the process of reviewing the offer.”
“Smoking Gun” is an espionage action thriller about a former South Korean agent with memory loss and a North Korean secret agent who is trying to kill him as they carry out an intense chase in order to stop a terrorism plot. The drama is written by scriptwriter Park Hye Jin who wrote “The Emperor: Owner of the Mask.”
If he accepts the role, Seo In Guk will be taking on the role of Kim Do Young, a National Intelligence Service analyst who is suspected of committing a crime following his memory loss. In the drama, he will try to uncover the truth behind the scheme surrounding him.
This will be Seo In Guk’s first drama in two years since “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” if he takes on the project, and it would be his first MBC drama in four years following “Shopping King Louie” in 2016. Having starred in numerous hit projects including “Squad 38,” “King of High School,” “Master’s Sun,” and “Reply 1997,” viewers are already highly anticipating his next project.
