Looking at the kind of run that Pathaan had enjoyed right through its extended weekend, many wondered how Monday would turn out to be for the action thriller. After all, the hardcore fanbase had (presumably) already watched the film between Wednesday to Sunday, there was this big Republic Day holiday in between as well, then Sunday was huge as well and in the course of its five-day run so far, the film had hit as many as four half centuries already. Also, ticket prices go down on regular days. Hence, some argued that the film would stay under the Rs 20 crores mark on Monday and then stay in that range right through the weekdays before rising again on Monday (I think this should be Friday). However, I was of a firm belief that the film will comfortably not just go past the Rs 20 crores mark but would be closer to the Rs 25 crores number, if not greater than that. After all, the craze for the film is unparalleled if one just looks at the kind of scenes transpiring in theatres and then the response being shared on social media. By all means, this is not a normal movie in the running; it’s a phenomenon that has shown in the super run on Monday as well, what with Rs. 26.50 crores coming in. This is a very good number, especially so when looked at in isolation since last year except for Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva, no other Bollywood movie had scored this much on the first day either and here it has happened on the sixth day! Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor starrer Bawaal postponed due to VFX and technical requirements

Varun Dhawan fans have been eagerly waiting to see the actor on the big screen and Bawaal added to anticipation as it was bringing together VD and Janhvi Kapoor for the first time on the big screen. However, it seems that they have to wait a little more since the latest update on that front is that the film is witnessing a few delays due to technical issues. Sources close to the film claimed that the Sajid Nadiadwala production may be pushed further because Nitesh Tiwari and the team of the film are keen on using a special kind of technology for the film. Sources claim that the filmmakers are quite ambitious about the onscreen presentation of Bawaal and hence are even shooting it using a special technology in Poland. Confirming the same, the director Nitesh Tiwari explained that in order to maintain the quality of the film, they decided to postpone its release, instead of compromising on the effects. He said, “The visual finesse we want to achieve on these sequences will need more time than we expected. We don’t want to cut short at anything because our purpose is to bring nothing but the best version of our vision to our viewers.” Readers would be aware that Bawaal was extensively shot in Poland wherein Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor were constantly seen sharing photos and videos on social media, giving a glimpse of the picturesque locations they shot the film in. Pathaan Box Office: With Pathaan Shah Rukh Khan and Yash Raj Films dominate list of Biggest Single Day grossers

The Siddharth Anand directorial Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham was released last week to a thunderous response from the audience. After opening with a bang, the Yash Raj Films production that saw a release across 5500 screens in the domestic market has seen its business grow with each passing day. Netflix to celebrate Yash Chopra’s legacy through the docu-series The Romantics

Streaming giant Netflix is all set to celebrate the late legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra and his banner Yash Raj Films through the docu-series titled The Romantics. Shah Rukh Khan on the massive success of Pathaan worldwide: ‘In these four days, I’ve forgotten my last four years’

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan returned to the big screen in a lead role with Pathaan on January 25, 2023 and has obliterated box office records. After 2018’s Zero, this is his first lead role in a while whereas he had several productions and cameos over the past few years. Suresh Triveni to direct two projects for his banner Opening Image following Jalsa

Filmmaker Suresh Triveni’s last movie Jalsa, which released last March on Amazon Prime Video, received appreciation for its content as well as the performances from Vidya Balan, Shefali Shah and veteran actress Rohini Hattangadi. Following the film, Triveni announced his own creative studio and production house named Opening Image, in partnership with Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment. R.s 57 cr, Rs. 70.50 cr, Rs. 39.25 cr and Rs. 51.50 cr - That's how the scorecard looks like for Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan after spending four days in theatres. After much speculation surrounding the role on whom the film’s title is based, Anurag Kashyap reveals Vicky Kaushal as DJ Mohabbat in his directorial Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat, co-starring Alaya F and Karan Mehta. This also marks the fourth collaboration between Anurag Kashyap and the actor, who plays a special role and will feature in a never-seen-before avatar in the coming-of-age romantic film. Talking about the special role of Vicky Kaushal in the film, Anurag Kashyap said, “The character of DJ Mohabbat is so integral to the story, that I wanted someone special to play it. DJ Mohabbat is the voice of love, and is the conduit between two stories and I wanted someone who is that. Someone everyone loves because they trust and believe him. Vicky is that to me since I’ve known him. Always speaks his heart, never forgets, is grateful to his audience and people and the characters he plays. When I asked ‘if not SRK then who?’. Anurag Kashyap expresses regret for turning down Sushant Singh Rajput's invitation to collaborate

Anurag Kashyap recently made headlines where he expressed guilt over his public statement about his Dev.D actor Abhay Deol and privately about the late Sushant Singh Rajput. In an interview, Anurag accused Abhay of being difficult to work with, claiming that the actor insisted on staying in a five-star hotel separate from the rest of the cast and crew. Abhay had denied this.  Anurag had revealed shortly after Sushant's death that he had refused to speak with him about a project because he was resentful of being ghosted by the actor in the past. The filmmaker discussed his differences with Abhay and Sushant in a new interview with Showsha. He said, “It’s taken me a year-and-a-half of sickness to realise a lot of things. I was so reactive; I would say things. I would say things out of anger, out of reaction, to things I felt perturbed by. It took me time to realise that I’m shouting, I’m shouting in a room full of people shouting. Nobody’s listening to each other, not just to me. That’s what social media has become. And I stepped back. I said, ‘Why am I reacting to this? What is bothering me?'”  He further added, “A lot has changed, but I know I have no filter. But it’s also made me realise I don’t need to say everything… For example, that whole spat between me and Abhay. Somebody was doing an article about why a very good actor like Abhay is no longer in the movies, and I spoke about my experiences, something that happened 13 years ago. I didn’t need to say it publicly. And the day the unfortunate incident happened of SSR, I felt so bad. Three weeks prior to that somebody was trying to reach out because he wanted to talk, and I was like, ‘No, he ghosted me, I don’t want to talk’. You get pangs of guilt. So, I tried to reach out to Abhay and I apologised to him, because somebody had told me that he was upset about me speaking publicly about him.”  Anurag stated that he told Abhay that it was fine to yell at him and then apologised repeatedly for what he said. However, Abhay appeared to be upset about what Anurag had said about him as recently as last month. Abhay called the filmmaker a "liar" and a "toxic" person in an interview with mid-day. Anurag acknowledged that they had both changed and expressed regret for what he had said.  Anurag had stated in a 2020 interview with NDTV that he was disappointed that Sushant had backed out of projects with him in favour of more high-profile jobs. He stated, “YRF called him and said, ‘We’ll give you a deal. You do Shuddh Desi Romance.’ Sushant, who used to sit in my office with Mukesh and all of us used to sit together, signed up with YRF and dropped Hasee Toh Phasee, a film of an outsider because usko validation YRF ka chahiye tha (he wanted validation from YRF). It’s with every actor, so I am not holding any grudges… Years later, in 2016, before the release of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Mukesh went to Sushant and said, ‘Anurag has written a script looking for an actor who can play someone based out of Uttar Pradesh.’ Dhoni released, became a success and he never called me back. Pathaan’s first-ever media event expected to take place on Monday, January 30; will be attended by Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham?

Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, was released on January 25, 2023 and ever since, it is rewriting history at the box office. Rakhi Sawant pens down a heartfelt message after the death of her mother Jaya Sawant; celebs express condolences

After a protracted struggle with a brain tumour and cancer, Rakhi Sawant's mother Jaya Sawant passed away on Saturday. Rakhi’s mother had reportedly been in critical condition while being treated in a Mumbai hospital for several days. The actress posted the heart-breaking news along with a moving letter for her mother on social media.   Rakhi had posted updates on her mother's health as well as images and videos of her mother taken when she was in the hospital. In numerous paparazzi recordings, the actor had also pleaded with viewers to pray for her mother's quick recovery. Rakhi’s mother had receiving medical care in a hospital in Mumbai. She shared a post on Instagram on Saturday confirming that her mother Jaya Sawant had passed away following treatment for a brain tumour and cancer. According to a statement Rakhi posted on her Instagram story, the funeral will be held on Sunday.  Rakhi posted a touching video on Instagram with her mother. The actress was seen sobbing hysterically sitting on the floor while Rakhi's mother was shown fighting for her life in the video. Mission Majnu: Adnan Siddiqui calls out ‘misrepresntation of Pakistanis’ in the Sidharth Malhotra starrer spy entertainer

Sidharth Malhotra returns to his patriotic avatar with Mission Majnu but this time he was seen essaying the role of a 70s spy in Pakistan, working for India. Co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, the film premiered on Netflix a few days ago but it seems that the film has been facing a little backlash from Pakistanis for their misrepresentation. Pathaan Box Office: Shah Rukh Khan starrer has a rollicking Friday, surpasses KGF: Chapter 2 (Hindi) and Avengers: End Game to set up RECORD weekend

It’s time for more and more records to tumble. Pathaan has now scored a huge Friday with an extraordinary Rs. 37.50 crores* been collected. This is just unbelievable and adjectives fall short to define the kind of run this Shah Rukh Khan starrer has been having. This was a regular working day and after such huge Wednesday and Thursday, one would have expected the film to fall at least 50%. Even that would have meant a haul of over Rs. 28 crores which would have been absolutely fantastic, be it pre or post pandemic. However here the numbers are almost Rs. 10 crores more than that as the dip in numbers has been so controlled. As a result, the first three day collections of the Sidharth Anand directed action drama thriller stands at Rs. 165 crores*. That’s simply out of the world since no Bollywood movie has ever scored this much or even come close to that in its opening weekend. Perhaps in their first week a few films have done that big definitely not in the first 3 days. As a result, the movie has now fine ahead of biggies from other industries which rocked the show in the last few years at the Indian box office. Hollywood’s Avengers: End Game had scored Rs. 157.20 crores in its first three days and that score has been beaten rather comfortably by the YRF spy flick. In the other hand KGF: Chapter 2, whose Hindi version has netted Rs. 143.64 crores, has been left far behind as well. Jacqueline Fernandez receives permission to travel to Dubai from Delhi High Court

Jacqueline Fernandez, who is currently being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate owing to her alleged involvement in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar Rs. 200 crore extortion case, has been granted the permission to travel abroad for professional commitments, albeit with certain conditions. The actress had earlier approached the Delhi Patiala High Court seeking the permit for travelling abroad to attend her scheduled performance for PepsiCo India conference where she was to perform at the Annual Bottlers Conference in Dubai. On Friday, the Delhi Patiala High Court granted permission to Jacqueline Fernandez to travel to Dubai after her counsel argued that the actress may face lawsuit from the brand for non-participation if she doesn’t make it to the conference. Considering the same, the court has granted her permission to travel but along with that it has also observed that it will come along with some conditions. Owing to the fact that the ED is still investigating the Sukesh Chandrashekhar case, for which, she has been named as a witnessed, the court has laid certain guidelines for the actress including a FDR of Rs. 1 crore, in case she doesn’t return. As per the court order, the actress is also expected to give a full disclosure of her stay details in Dubai including itinerary, arrival, and departure. In the past too, Jacqueline Fernandez had filed a plea seeking permission to travel but had withdrawn the same. While the counsel argued that the actress decided to cooperate in the investigation and decided against traveling for personal reasons, the current reason for her to insist on leaving for Dubai is because of the professional repercussions she may face if she doesn’t attend the event. On the other hand, the ED opposed it not only stating that the case is still under investigation but also pointing out that Jacqueline is a foreign national which increases the threat of her fleeing. After listening to both arguments, the court upheld its decision of allowing Fernandez to travel for the conference but keeping in mind the ongoing investigation of the Sukesh Chandrashekhar Rs. 200 crore extortion case, the court has asked the actress to strictly adhere to the guidelines that have been laid down. For the unversed, Jacqueline Fernandez is being investigated for her alleged relationship with Sukesh Chandrashekhar. While the actress claims to be a victim of the conman, the Enforcement Directorate is investigating and has filed multiple chargesheets regarding the same. Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films has announced its partnership with celebrated author Harinder Sikka. The company has acquired the rights to adapt Sikka's bestselling novel "Vichhoda: In the Shadow of Longing". This bestseller novel, which was first published in 2019, tells an untold story of strength, resilience, and sacrifice. Harinder’s first novel, “Calling Sehmat” was also adapted into a feature film Raazi, which was a blockbuster. Shaheer Sheikh rescues 16-month-old daughter, wheelchair-bound father-in-law and wife Ruchikaa Kapoor after fire breaks out in Andheri building

Last to last night was tough for the family of popular TV actor Shaheer Sheikh. For the unversed, on January 25, 2023, a massive fire broke out in the actor's building. Shaheer Sheikh's wife Ruchika Kapoor took to her verified social media handle and shared the details of the horrific incident. On a long note, Kapoor stated that she was at home with her 16-month-old daughter and parents and at around 1.30 am, she got a call that their building was on fire. However, after a lot of effort, the whole family was evacuated safely. Ruchikaa Kapoor thanked the firefighters and explained the incident in detail. She said that her father is wheelchair-bound while her daughter Anaya is just 16 months old. Given this, it was very difficult to get down the stairs from her 15th-floor apartment. Ruchikaa further added that Shaheer Sheikh and his brother-in-law along with firefighters came to rescue her. After a lot of effort, the whole family was evacuated till 5 in the morning. Pathaan Box Office Estimate Day 2: Shah Rukh Khan creates another record; collects Rs. 67 to Rs. 69 crores on Day 2

After a record-breaking opening of Rs. 57 crore across the nation, Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, has shattered another record on its second day. According to early estimates, the movie is looking to collect in the range of Rs. 67 to 69 crores [all versions] on the Republic Day, taking the two-day total to Rs. 125 crore plus. Of this, the total two-day contribution from the South dubbed version is around Rs. 4.50 to Rs. 5 crores. Pathan is on a riot all across the board - be it the single screens or the multiplexes - facing capacity issues too at multiple territories. Gujarat, which was relatively low on the first day, has shown big gains on the second day. The same is the case with CP and CI, which have jumped by huge margins. BREAKING: More than 20,000 shows of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan are playing in a day in just Mumbai circuit, a RECORD for a Hindi film post-pandemic

The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan has embarked upon an earth-shattering opening. The word of mouth has been quite positive as the moviegoers have been impressed by the film’s tight narrative, scale, action, emotions, and of course the performances of SRK, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham. The cameo by Salman Khan, which was an open secret, has also been loved unanimously and has contributed to the craze around the film. The advance booking of Pathaan began on January 18 on a rocking note. With each passing day, ticket sales increased. A trade source said, “We all knew that there’s tremendous demand for the film. Yet, we were not prepared to see such kinds of bookings. Hence, many exhibitors and multiplexes increased shows to cater to the insane demand.” It has now come to light that in the Mumbai circuit, Pathaan has more than 20,000 shows a day! The source continued, “In the past, films like RRR (2022), Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion (2017), Avatar: The Way Of Water (2022), Avengers: Endgame (2019), etc also had so many shows in the circuit. But post-pandemic, this is a first for the Mumbai circuit for a Hindi film. It speaks volumes of its hype.” Bollywood Hungama has been continuously reporting about such happening box-office-related developments of Pathaan. In the morning, we reported that exhibitors increased 300 shows of the film right after the first show. At present, the total screen count of the film is 8,000 screens across the world. While 5,500 of these screens are in India, the rest of the 2,500 screens are Overseas. The Siddharth Anand-directed film Pathaan hit screens today. The keenly awaited Shah Rukh Khan starrer enjoyed immense hype in the run-up to its release. With the audience eagerly awaiting the actor's return to the big screen after over four years, Pathaan witnessed an immense rate of advance bookings. In fact, the film managed to sell nearly six lakh tickets across national multiplex chains on its opening day alone. Now early reports claim that Pathaan has already raked in Rs. 20.35 cr from three major national multiplex chains alone. Not surprisingly, when compared to the previous Siddharth Anand directorial War, the SRK starrer has managed to blow past it. Amitabh Bachchan receives Lifetime Achievement Award in Saudi Arabia

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has successfully bagged yet another award at Saudi Arabia. He expressed his gratitude and gave a heartfelt acceptance speech while receiving the award. The actor shared the same on social media.

Amitabh Bachchan bagged Lifetime Achievement Award at 2023 Joy Awards for his contribution to the Indian movies. Legendary actor Bachchan took to his Instagram and shared the video. The post incorporated several clips from the actor’s film, following which he can be seen giving a speech. “My immense gratitude for your affection and care .. and for the honour ..”, the actor captioned while sharing the video.

In his speech he mentioned that it was his first visit to Saudi, but won’t be his last. The actor said, “I’ve always believed that cinema is a medium of entertainment, and it is a medium that brings people together and integrates human society. We come from different walks of life and come from different paths of the world, but when we watch something, we laugh at the same jokes and cry at the same things. We come together at one platform.”

“My father, a great poet - during the last days of his life, he used to watch a Hindi film every evening, sometimes repeating the same film every time. I asked him what is it that you find interesting in cinema. He said that I get poetic justice in three hours. You and I won’t get poetic justice in a lifetime or several lifetimes. That’s the power of cinema. I’m proud to be a very small part of the film industry of my country. Tiger makes a smashing entry in the second half of the film to rescue Pathaan aka. Shah Rukh Khan from a goon of Russian mafia.

According to a source close to the development, Salman Khan has an extraordinary screen presence as Tiger in his 15-minute-long action packed extended appearance in Siddharth Anand's Pathaan. "From helicopter, to guns and hand to hand combats - you will see Salman Khan acing the space that he excels in to rescue his friend Shah Rukh Khan from tough times of being trapped by Russian Mafia," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The two superstars have a dynamic presence in the film leaving the fans asking for more and more of the two. "And that combo will be back soon in a full-fledged film, as a crossover of Tiger and Pathaan is in the making. The idea of Aditya Chopra is to celebrate two of Hindi Cinema's biggest megastars - Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan," the source told us further.

Pathaan is an extension of YRF spy universe that kicked off with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012, followed by Tiger Zinda Hai and War. While it all started with the Salman Khan film, the superstar is now being joined by Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Shah Rukh Khan in this action packed universe, which is undoubtedly the biggest universe of Hindi cinema. Meanwhile, Pathaan has taken an earth-shattering opening at the box office.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan to release in 5200 screens in India, 2500 screens overseas

Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback in the form of Pathaan is all set for a huge opening tomorrow. The film has had a one-of-its-kind response to the advance booking. What make its achievement even bigger is that it will be released in a large number of screens. We now have the final tally for the screen count of Pathaan.

The Siddharth Anand directed movie will be releasing in 5200 screens in India. This includes all three languages – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Its overseas count is 2500. Hence, its total screen count in the world is a mammoth 7700 screens. The information was shared exclusively by the veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh on his official Twitter page.

But that’s not all. As Bollywood Hungama reported earlier in the day, Pathaan is also the first Indian film to release in over 100 countries in the world.

Speaking about this achievement, Nelson D’Souza, Vice President, International Distribution, at Yash Raj Films, said, “This is a very heartening sign, especially post-pandemic, keeping the theatrical business revival in mind. Pathaan will release in 100 + countries. It is the fourth film of YRF’s spy universe and it is amazing to see how our prized franchise is growing from strength to strength with every film. We are very bullish about Pathaan and what it can collect from the overseas territories. It should be able to bring the cheer back in the theatrical distribution business at the start of the year.”

Produced by Aditya Chopra for Yash Raj Films, Pathaan is an action thriller that also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone. The film is all set to release worldwide tomorrow on January 25.

Rajkumar Santoshi files complaint at Mumbai police after receiving threats for his film Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh

It seems that the films releasing this week are facing trouble from different groups owing to the subjects. While Pathaan has been facing protests from different groups because of the saffron colour bikini of Deepika Padukone, the other film that is releasing alongside, Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh is also facing its own share of trouble. This film has come under the radar after some groups took offense, claiming that it glorifies Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin. And now with the filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi receiving threats over the same, he has sought the help of Mumbai for increasing security.

As per PTI reports, Rajkumar Santoshi has written a letter to the Special Commissioner of Police Deven Bharti, in which he has requested his help after a group of people interrupted and caused a scene at the recently held promotional event of Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh . “Later several threats were received from some unknown people asking me to stop the release and promotion for this movie. I feel unsafe and I submit that grave damage and injury could be caused to me and my family members if such persons are set free,” said the excerpts of the letter.

Furthermore, he stressed on the need of protection adding, “I request you to urgently provide me with additional security to protect myself and other members of my family.”

Rajkumar Santoshi who has directed some hard hitting films like Damini and Ghayal, will be returning to the big screen wherein he wanted to portray the clashing ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi and Naturam Godse, and what prompted the latter to kill the man, who is known as the ‘Father of the Nation’.

Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh is a historical drama Deepak Antani and Chinmany Mandlekar and is slated to release on January 26.

Kartik Aaryan starrer Shehzada trailer crosses 100 million views across platforms

Ever since the trailer of director Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada dropped on the internet and social media, Kartik Aaryan’s fans have gone into a frenzy. Although the actor is known for giving a series of commercial hits, this is the first time that he is starring in an out-and-out masala entertainer and this seems to have worked out well with the trailer going viral in no time.

Now, the Shehzada trailer has crossed a major milestone as it has gone past 100 million views across platform on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram in just 11 days.

Shehzada is the official Hindi remake of the Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Released in 2020, the movie starred Allu Arjun in the lead role along with Pooja Hegde, Nivetha Pethuraj and Sushanth Anumolu. The remake has been produced by Bhushan Kumar under his banner T-Series.

Recently, Kartik was seen in Rajat Sharma’s television chat show Aap Ki Adalat. Among various things, he also spoke about him emerging as a major star of Bollywood lately. “I have always seen myself as no. 1,” he said on the show. “Slowly people are also getting to know that and are seeing me like that. But the audience’s love is what matters the most to me. I am desperate for their love and only for that am I obsessed with myself and want to give hit films... there’s only one Shehzada (prince) in the film industry.”

Shehzada is all set to release on February 10.

It seems as if Bollywood is finally growing up. After the underproduction, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in which Akshay does not have a romantic lead, one has now come to know that he has no leading lady in the C Sankaran Nair bio-pic either.

According to reliable source, “Ananya Pandey is a part of the bio-pic. But she is not paired with Akshay. Rather, she plays his intern and protégée. There is no romantic involvement between the two.”

Another forthcoming film where the hero has no leading lady is Bholaa where Ajay Devgn goes solo.

Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan defeats Hrithik Roshan's War to record the BIGGEST advance for a Bollywood film

Records are being shattered left right and center as the king has arrived to conquer his throne. As Shah Rukh Khan returns after 4 years with Pathaan, the advance booking is on fire for this YRF film. By Monday night, Pathaan had surpassed the advance bookings of War to emerge the biggest advance booking of all time for a Bollywood film. According to our tracking, the film has sold approximately 8 lakh tickets for the opening day alone in India and is looking to end with an overall sale of 10 lakh for the opening day alone in advance booking.

Of the total 8 lakh tickets, approximately 4.19 lakh have been sold in the three national chains - PVR, Inox and Cinepolis. For those unaware, the three chains had sold approximately 4.10 lakh tickets for the previous record holder War. With one day still to go, Pathaan will become the first ever Bollywood film to sell over 5 lakh tickets in the three national chains as also the first film to sell over 10 lakh tickets across the country. The advance booking all across the country has surpassed War and Tuesday is all going to be about upping its lead to claim the top spot. Pathaan will be looking to create records that stand tall for a long time on the opening front.

Pathaan is looking to take an earth-shattering opening above Rs. 40 crores at the box office in India, thereby becoming the biggest non holiday opener of all time in the Hindi market. The opening can also touch Rs. 50 crore depending on how positive the word of mouth is, as a good word mouth would lead to capacity issues in the evening and late night shows.

Pathaan will also be targeting to collect over Rs. 100 crore in just 2 days, and with this, it would become the fastest film to hit a century at Hindi box office. Pathaan Advance Booking Report: Shah Rukh Khan starrer sells 3,91,000 tickets for opening day across national multiplex chains

The Siddharth Anand directorial Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham has fast been selling out in a number of locations. Since the advance bookings for the film opened full-fledged on January 20, the audience has been lapping up tickets at an astonishing rate. After seeing steady sales over the past few days, now the latest update is that the film has sold nearly 4 lakh tickets for its first day alone.

As per reports, Pathaan has sold 3,91,000 tickets across major national multiplex chains till Monday at 8.45 PM. The PVR chain of cinemas has seen a sale of 1,70,000 tickets, followed by INOX which sold 1,44,000, and then by Cinepolis which registered sales of 77,000 tickets. If that wasn’t all, while multiplex tickets in major metros are selling fast, nearly 25 single-screen theatres that have been in-operational since the pandemic has resumed business with Pathaan.

Currently, the buzz for the film and the anticipation to witness Shah Rukh Khan on the big screen has reached a crescendo. Given the hype surrounding Pathaan trade estimates predict a bumper opening. In fact, early predictions claim that Pathaan could open in excess of Rs. 42 cr.

Radhika Madan to return with Shiddat 2; makers drop Sunny Kaushal from cast

Back in 2021, we saw the release of the Radhika Madan – Sunny Kaushal starrer Shiddat. Directed by Kunal Deshmukh the film met with a tepid response at the box office. However, now a couple of years later we hear that the makers of the film are contemplating on making a sequel to the release.

Confirming the same, a well-placed industry source tells Bollywood Hungama exclusively, “Yes, Shiddat 2 is very much in the making. Though the first film did not really meet expectations, the makers of the film feel that the response from the audience was good enough to warrant a sequel.” Ask the source for more details about the cast of Shiddat 2 and he continues, “Interestingly, in Shiddat 2 the character of Radhika Madan has been retained, so we will see her returning. However, the character played by Sunny Kaushal in the first film dies, and keeping that in mind his character and role in the sequel have been dropped as well.” While it will be interesting to see how the story moves forward after Sunny’s character’s demise there has been no official announcement from the makers of the film.

For the uninitiated, Shiddat followed the story of Jaggi (Sunny Kaushal), and Kartika Bhosle (Radhika Madan) who after a rocky start begin to get attracted to each other. However, Kartika, who is informed of her impending wedding leaves for London while telling Jaggi to make it there on his own within three months if he still loves her. Jaggi crosses the border illegally and manages to make it there only to lose his life while facing multiple hurdles in his journey.
