Anil Kapoor and Anupam Kher visit Rishab Pant at the hospital

Anil Kapoor and Anupam Kher recently visited Rishabh Pant who is admitted at the Max Hospital in Dehradun. Readers would be aware that the cricketer sustained several injuries owing to his car crash at the Delhi-Dehradun Highway. While fans and well-wishers have been praying for his health, the two Bollywood stars assured everyone that the cricketer will recover soon.

As per ANI reports, Anupam Kher asserted that he met the family of Rishabh Pant and that they tried to lighten the mood of the family owing to the massive trauma they underwent. Anupam was quoted saying, "We came to know that Rishabh Pant is in the hospital, so I and Anil, as common citizens, came to see him. We met his mother and he is much better, his spirits are very high and the blessings of the whole of India are with him, so he will get well soon. We met his relatives, all is good, all is fine, we made them laugh. We went to meet him as fans. We as responsible citizens take that please drive carefully, especially when it is foggy at night."

His long-time co-star and best friend Anil Kapoor, who also visited Pant along with Kher, added, "He is in high spirits and he should be fine, we also met his mother and relatives, and all are very good. Whoever is watching this I would like to appeal that, pray for him, so that he recovers soon and we will see him playing."

For the unversed, Rishabh Pant got into an accident at the Delhi Dehradun Highway where his car collided on the divider. He was on his way to his hometown Roorkee in Uttarkhand to surprise his family for New Years. His car also caught fire but the cricketer escaped by breaking the windshield, but not before sustaining several injuries on his forehead, leg, and back. He is undergoing several treatment currently including plastic surgery on his face to cover up some major wounds.

BREAKING: Nana Patekar plays the lead role in Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War

The year 2022 ends today and the biggest grosser of the year is Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files. It was the sleeper blockbuster as the film, reportedly made in just Rs. 15 crores, opened with collections of just Rs. 3.55 crores and had a lifetime of Rs. 252.90 crores. As a result, the expectations are tremendous for Vivek’s next film, The Vaccine War. Vivek Agnihotri announced the film a few months back and two weeks ago, the film went on floors.

Bollywood Hungama has learnt about the casting of The Vaccine War, which was kept under wraps till now. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The Vaccine War stars Nana Patekar in the lead. He has a very important and well-fleshed-out character. Nana sir is putting his heart and soul into playing his character and he’s happy shooting for the film.”

Nana Patekar, who turns a year older tomorrow, on January 1, was last seen in the Tamil film Kaala (2018), co-starring Rajinikanth. It's My Life (2020) and Tadka (2022) did see a release on television and digital respectively, but these were delayed projects. In 2023, he's expected to be seen in as many as 3 films. Besides The Vaccine War, he plays the lead in The Confession, directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan. He also shot for the Marathi remake of the blockbuster Gujarati film, Chaal Jeevi Laiye (2019).

The source added, “Apart from Nana Patekar, The Vaccine War also stars Vivek Agnihotri’s wife Pallavi Joshi, who’ll be back on the big screen after her dynamic performance in The Kashmir Files. Gopal Singh, who recently played a significant role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s India Lockdown (2022) and veteran actress Divya Seth are also a part of the cast of the film. The movie is currently being shot in Lucknow.”

The Vaccine War, as the name suggests, is about India’s successful vaccination programme against the threat of Covid-19. It is scheduled to be released on Independence Day in 2023.

Aamir Khan to join hands with RRR star Junior NTR and KGF director Prashanth Neel for his next; report

With Shah Rukh Khan joining hands with Atlee, Prabhas joining hands with Om Raut, there has been a lot of interesting collaboration between Bollywood and South that 2023 can look forward to. Adding to the list of Pan India projects is yet another massive venture, as per recent reports. Readers may recall that KGF director Prashanth Neel had announced a film with Junior NTR, NTR31 earlier this year. Now the latest update on that front is that the filmmaker has roped in Aamir Khan for the film.

It wasn’t too long ago that Aamir Khan had announced that he is taking a break from movies post the release of Laal Singh Chaddha in August. But it seems that the superstar is returning to films soon. Although there has been no confirmation from the filmmaker or the Bollywood star, an IANS report has stated sources close to the filmmaker have confirmed the news and it was also being said that the film will go on floors next year after Prashanth Neel completes work on Salaar. Further details of his role and other information are currently kept under wraps. Currently, if these sources are to be believed, Prashanth is busy with the post production work of Salaar, which stars Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles.

Coming to the project which has apparently been titled NTR31, from what we hear, Prashanth Neel is working on idea that he conceptualized about two decades ago. However, the filmmaker was keen on building this film on a massive scale and waited for years for the right time. So after helming Salaar, which is also expected to be big budget entertainer, the filmmaker will kick off this project. Besides these two films, Prashanth is also set to return to the KGF franchise too with KGF Chapter 3.

Bigg Boss 16: Salman Khan schools Shalin for his foul language; Archana Gautam gets a stern warning, watch

By introducing a lot of unexpected twists and turns on the show, the makers have finally managed to keep the audience hooked to Bigg Boss 16. The Salman Khan-hosted show has now got an extension and would see its grand finale later in the month of February. Talking about this week, the audience got to witness a lot of arguments among the contestants, especially Archana Gautam and Shalin Bhanot. Their heated argument has not only divided fans of the show but also grabbed the attention of the host. In the upcoming episode, Salman Khan will be seen addressing the same while slamming Archana and Shalin for their behaviour.

On Friday, the official social media handle of the channel dropped two promos, in which Salman can be seen discussing the matter with the duo. While talking to Shalin, Salman slammed him for using foul language and calling Archana “do takke ki aaurat (cheap woman)”. Shalin tries to justify his actions and statements but in vain. During the same, Salman tells him that he is “missing” the whole point “again”.

Meanwhile, in another promo video, Salman did not spare Archana as well. He politely calls her out for passing personal comments in the show. The promo ends with Salman saying, “Ghar mai wapas laane ki takat rakhta hu toh bahar nikalne ki bhi utni hi takat rakhta hu (If I am able to get you back in the home, I am able to kick out as well).”

For the unversed, in one of the previous episodes, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Archana had an argument over the former's claim that the latter prepared an insufficient amount of sabzi for all the housemates. Shalin intervened in the fight and made Priyanka understand that there is no sense in revisiting the matter because Archana is petty. Enraged at the remark, Archana landed a blow by saying that Shalin is obviously talking about his ex-wife. Post that Shalin began hurling things about the house.

A riled-up Shalin requests 'Bigg Boss' to summon him to the confession room to talk about the matter. He bursts out crying as he admits that he cannot tolerate the humiliation doled out to him.

PM Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben passes away; Akshay Kumar, Swara Bhaskar, Ajay Devgn and other celebs express condolences

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Hiraben passed away in the wee hours of Friday that is December 30. Numerous celebs from the Hindi film industry, including Akshay Kumar, Swara Bhaskar, Kangana Ranaut, Jackie Shroff and more, mourn her death while offering their condolences to the actor and his family.

Stars like Ajay Devgn, Anupam Kher Akshay Kumar, Shehnaaz Gill, and Sonu Sood tweeted to express their grief, while Kangana Ranaut and Swara Bhaskar took to their Instagram story to mourn PM’s loss. “There is no greater sorrow than losing a mother. May god give you the strength to bear this sorrow,” wrote Akshay Kumar in a tweet, while Ajay Devgn tweeted, “My heartfelt condolences on the passing of Smt. Heeraben Modi. A simple, principled lady, she raised a fine son in our PM Shri Narendra Modiji. Om Shanti. My personal condolences to our PM and his family.”

Meanwhile, an excerpt of Anupam Kher’s tweet, which was written in Hindi, read, “Your love and respect for her is evident in the world. No one will be able to fill her place in your life! Heeraben breathed her last, reportedly, at around 3.30 am. She was admitted to U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad earlier this week due to health issues. The medical bulletin read “Heeraben Modi passed away on 30/12/2022 at 3.30 am during the treatment at U N Mehta Heart Hospital.” Besides, Bollywood celebs, Kolkata’s CM Mamta Banerjee, Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif, and AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi, also expressed condolences.

On the other hand, hours after performing the last rites of his mother Hiraben Modi in Gandhinagar, Narendra Modi flagged off the seventh Vande Bharat Express.

NCSC issues notice to Bigg Boss 16 makers over Vikkas Manaktala addressing Archana Gautam as ‘neechi jaati ke log’

While the controversies within the Bigg Boss house has been brewing up with contestants imposing blames and accusations on each other, some of them have been causing a stir even outside the house despite staying on the show. The recent wildcard entrant Vikkas Manaktala seems to be the latest one whose name got embroiled in a legal hassle after he addressed co-contestant Archana Gautam as ‘neechi jaati’ (lower caste), amounting to discrimination. The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has issued a notice to many associated with Bigg Boss 16, including channel partner Viacom 18 and Endemol Pvt. Ltd.

As per PTI reports, NCSC issued a notice to the Maharashtra government, State police, Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Endemol India Private Ltd, Viacom 18 Media Pvt Ltd and Colors TV wherein the commission said suo-motu cognizance has been taken on information received through social media regarding Manaktala calling Gautam “neech jati ke log" (a low caste person).

Furthermore, referring to the Indian law, the NCSC added, “This is clearly an offence punishable under SC/ST Act, and the Commission has decided to investigate into the matter in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it under Article 338 of the Constitution of India.” The notice also requested to take action as soon as possible continuing, “You are hereby requested to submit action taken report to the undersigned within seven days of receipt of this notice.” Colors TV and the rest of them involved in the notice are yet to issue a response regarding the same.

Bigg Boss 16 currently features MC Stan, Sajid Khan, Sumbul Touqeer, Sreejita De, Tina Datta, Shalin Bhanot, Soundarya Sharma, and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary as contestants along with Archana Gautam and Vikkas Manaktala as contestants. The show currently airs on Colors channel from Monday to Friday at 10 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 pm. It is also available for streaming on Voot.

Tunisha Sharma death row: Uorfi Javed says Sheezan Khan might have ‘cheated on her but can’t blame him for her death’

For the past one week, media has been abuzz with reports regarding the suicide of Ali Baba Dastaan-E-Kabul actress Tunisha Sharma, which was followed by the arrest of her ex-boyfriend and co-actor Sheezan Khan. After the families of the victim and the accused addressed the media regarding their respective children, many of their co-actors too have spoken about their opinion regarding the issue. The latest one to talk about the matter is Uorfi Javed who posted a long note on social media, a day go, not only addressing the issue but also requesting females to give away their life for anyone.

Uorfi Javed took to her social media to share a long note regarding the issue on her Instagram story saying, “My 2 cents on Tunisha’s case, yes he might be wrong, he might have cheated on her but we cannot blame him for her death. You absolutely cannot make someone stay with you who doesn’t want to stay. Girls no one I REPEAT NO ONE is worth giving up your precious life. Sometimes it might just seem like the end of the world but trust me it’s not. Think about the people who love you or just try loving yourself a bit harder. Be your own hero. Please give time some time. Even after suicide the suffering doesn’t end, the ones that are left behind suffer even more.”

The statement comes after the Sharma family claimed that Sheezan Khan had cheated on Tunisha Sharma, which led to her suicide. The actress committed suicide by hanging herself in the makeup van on the sets of the ongoing show Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul which also featured Khan in the male lead. As per statements given to the officials, it seems that the actor had spoken to the late actress fifteen minutes before her demise.

On December 27, Bollywood’s Bhaijaan Salman Khan celebrated his 57th birthday. While the inside photos and videos of his star-studded birthday bash are still trending on the internet, actress Raveena Tandon has some special images to share featuring her along with Salman and his younger brother and actor Arbaaz Khan.

Interestingly, all the photos in Raveena’s carousel post are selfies clicked by Salman though most of them are appearing blurred. The trio is seen smiling as they pose for the cameras for some goofy selfies. Instagramming the multiple-picture post, the KGF star wrote, “The goofiness never stops when you know @beingsalmankhan is taking the selfies,” followed by a hashtag reading “selfie le le re” along with a bunch of laughing emoticons.

Their goofiness didn’t stop there. Avatar: The Way of Water Box Office: Film collects Rs. 9.60 cr. on Day 13; total collections at Rs. 281.90 cr.

The James Cameron directorial Avatar: The Way of Water seems to be inching closer to the Rs. 300 cr. mark with each passing day. After taking a flying start at the Indian box office, the business of Avatar 2 has been seeing consistent collections each day. In fact, now on Day 13, the film has managed to draw in a further Rs. 9.60 cr.

Interestingly, Avatar: The Way of Water has continued to rule the box office despite competition from the new release Cirkus. However, with the negative reviews and underperformance of the new release at the box office, the collections of Avatar 2 has seen a boost. As of now, with little to no competition from other releases, and a more or less clear run until the next big-ticket release in January 2023, the business of the film is sure to see immense growth.

Currently, Avatar: The Way of Water is expected to continue its box office run. Going by the current scenario the business of the film, which is pegged at Rs. 281.90 cr, is more than likely to cross the Rs. 300 cr. mark in the coming days.

Bollywood stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan jetted off to Switzerland to celebrate Christmas and ring in the New Year. After three long years, the family has flown to Gstaad to enjoy the beautiful snow-capped mountains. Kareena is leaving no stone unturned to enjoy the family with her husband and kids. The actress recently shared a family photo featuring Saif Ali Khan and their kids Taimur and Jehangir Ali Khan.

The picture-perfect moment captures Kareena in a black jacket with matching pants and sunglasses. Meanwhile, Saif also opted for a black outfit paired up with sunglasses and grey shoes. The film was an official remake of a classic Hollywood film, Forrest Gump.  She has multiple releases for next year in her kitty, including The Devotion of Suspect X, co-starring Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat.

Recently, she was shooting for a Hansal Mehta directorial. Besides this, the actress has also signed a project with Rhea Kapoor titled The Crew, in which she will co-star with Tabu and Kriti Sanon.

EXCLUSIVE: Huma Qureshi says filming Badlapur rape scene was traumatic; she felt ‘rage’: ‘I went back home and my hands were shaking’

Bollywood Hungama hosted its roundtable with actresses who made a mark in 2022 in films. Five actresses including Bhumi Pednekar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Rakul Preet Singh, Alaya F, and Huma Qureshi were a part of the conversation that went from their performances this year to pay parity and intimacy. The actresses spoke about several aspects of their careers including the importance of having intimacy coordinators on sets. In the past few years, intimacy coaches have become an important part of the shoot to take the actors through the process smoothly.

Speaking at the Bollywood Hungama Actresses Round Table 2022 presented by Astroyogi, Huma Qureshi recalled shooting the Badlapur rape scene, which left her traumatized. The film featured her playing the role of a sex worker. As the conversation revolved around intimacy coaches playing a major role in recent years in the movies, she recalled shooting the Badlapur scene. “I play a sex worker. That’s why I did the film because, for me, it was such a beautiful thing to explore how can we make people feel bad for a sex worker who we judge so freely and who can also be raped and that she is also a woman at the end of the day. I love that thing in that character but while doing the scene, I was a wreck,” she explained.

She said that she felt the safest with Sriram Raghavan and Varun Dhawan. “They were all amazing. But, it’s a lot. I remember going back to my room and I was fully clothed the whole time and it was all simulated but I went back home and my hands were shaking. Hansal Mehta directorial starring Kartik Aaryan pushed indefinitely

A while back filmmaker Hansal Mehta had announced that he would soon be directing a film starring Kartik Aaryan. However, months after the announcement there has been no progress on the project at all. In fact, industry buzz claims that the makers have now shifted focus from the venture totally. If that was not enough, the grapevine claims that with Kartik and Hansal both busy with no dates for their joint venture, the film has almost been shelved.

Revealing details about the delay of the untitled project a well-placed industry source informed Bollywood Hungama exclusively, “Yes, Kartik and Hansal had planned on working together and had announced an untitled venture. However, there have been constant delays with the project, and now it seems like the film has been pushed indefinitely.” Further talking about the delays, the source continues, “Kartik Aaryan has had a stellar 2022, with the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Freddy hitting the mark he has become one of the most sought-after talent today. Besides Katrik already has his hands full with Shehzada and Satyaprem Ki Katha so it is unlikely that he will have time for anything else in the immediate future. Hansal is too busy with Modern Love: Mumbai and has Scam 2023 and a couple of other projects he is working on. So essentially with both director and actor busy the collaboration has been put on hold.”

Though the source refrains from stating that the film has been shelved, he adds, “You cannot say that the film has been shelved since both Kartik and Hansal are still keen on doing the film. They will get to it when both have time and dates. But till then, the film will remain on the back burner.” Echoing a similar thought, a source close to the duo says, “No the film is very much on. It is just that neither has had the time to allocate to the project.”

Veteran producer Nitin Manmohan passes away after suffering from a massive heart attack

Veteran film producer Nitin Manmohan has passed away in a hospital in Mumbai. The producer was rushed to hospital on December 3 after suffering from a massive heart attack. He was on the ventilator for 15 days, his friend and producer Kaleem Khan confirmed the news.

A team of doctors were treating Nitin Manmohan at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Navi Mumbai. They were providing him with the best care. As per reports, his son Soham, who lives in Dubai, had flown down to Mumbai to be by his father's side.

Nitin Manmohan is survived by his wife, son and daughter. He was veteran actor Manmohan's son.

Nitin Manmohan is a well-known Indian producer, director and writer who produced films including Bol Radha Bol (1992), Laadla (1994), Army (1996), Shool (1999), Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2001), Deewangee (2002), Dus (2005), Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011), Ready (2011).

Tunisha Sharma Death: Arrested Sheezan Khan allegedly deleted WhatsApp chats another ex-girlfriend

Television actress Tunisha Sharma, who was starring as Shehzaadi Mariam in Ali Baba Dastaan-E-Kabul TV show, allegedly died by suicide on December 24 on the sets of the fantasy-themed show at Vasai in Maharashtra's Palghar district. The actress was only 20. Her last rites were conducted on Tuesday, December 27 in presence of her family, friends and industry colleagues. Her co-actor Sheezan Khan has been arrested in alleged abetment to suicide case. They reportedly broke up 15 days before the incident took place.

The police said that Sheezan Khan was talking to another woman, who was his ex-girlfriend, on WhatsApp but later deleted all his chats with her. As per the NDTV report, the police found “250 pages of WhatsApp chats from Sheezan's mobile phone which will be studied and further analyzed. The cops have written to WhatsApp to retrieve all of Sheezan's chats with his another ex-girlfriend and are probing why he deleted the messages.”

Following her death on December 24, Tunisha Sharma’s mother filed a complaint against Sheezan Khan for alleged abetment to suicide. The actor has been sent to judicial custody following his arrest as the investigation is underway. It is being reported that the two actors were in a relationship and that they had broken up 15 days ago. Tunisha Sharma was allegedly under stress and is speculated that this drove her to the edge.

The actress reportedly did not leave any suicide note. Police will conduct investigation from both murder and suicide angles.

Tunisha Sharma Death: Shivin Narang reveals he was supposed to shoot a music video with Internet Wala Love co-star on the day she died

The TV industry is mourning the untimely death of actress Tunisha Sharma. She played the lead role of Shehzaadi Mariam on the TV drama, Ali Baba Dastaan-E-Kabul. She allegedly died by suicide on December 24 on the sets of the fantasy-themed show at Vasai in Maharashtra's Palghar district. The actress was only 20. As her last rites were conducted on Tuesday, December 27, her Internet Wala Love co-star Shivin Narang was in attendance. The actor was helping out Sharma's family, especially Tunisha's mother who was devastated after her daughter's death. As it turns out, Narang revealed that he was supposed to shoot a music video with Tunisha on the day she died.

Speaking to ETimes, Shivin Narang revealed, "Tunisha and I were supposed to shoot for a music video on December 23 and 24 in Mumbai." The actor was looking forward to reuniting with his former co-star. "Imagine, we were supposed to shoot on the same day when this tragedy happened. However, a week prior I learnt that she had some health issues and the shoot had to be postponed. I wish we had shot that day... I probably would have understood her state of mind and could have helped her," Narang said.

"Despite being just 16, she was so good at her work and extremely professional. She would spread cheer on the set and we would do a lot of masti," the actor spoke about when they worked on Internet Wala Love.

Shivin Narang added that he shares a beautiful bond with her mother, too. They stayed in touch after the show wrapped and he was even invited to dinner at their Chandigarh residence. He met her last at an event. "She was so happy... we danced and shot several videos and pictures. I still can’t believe she is not with us anymore,” Narang recalled his working experience with her.

Box Office: Avatar: The Way of Water and Drishyam 2 enjoying great run, will play on till Pathaan arrives - Tuesday updates

It’s the season of Avatar: The Way of Water and Drishyam 2, and that is now set to continue for four more weeks now. Pathaan releases exactly four weeks from now on January 25, and prior to that the only notable release is Arjun Kapoor and Tabu starrer Kuttey. Given the scenario, both these established films will have an amazing uninterrupted run with theatres continuing to give them good showcasing. While Avatar: The Way of Water will have all premium screens, including IMAX and 3D, reserved for it, Drishyam 2 needs only limited major screens for it and that it will get rather comfortably even though Kuttey will see good showcasing.

This can well be seen from the fact that Avatar: The Way of Water is running riot with Rs. 10.50 crores* more coming on Tuesday. This is superb as a double digit score on the 12th day is not something which is common. All it needs now is to stay in the same zone today and tomorrow as well since from Friday to Sunday, the film will be in double digit score and that too on the higher side all over again. So far, the film has collected Rs. 272.50 crores* already and is a huge blockbuster.

Another blockbuster that’s enjoying an extended period at the box office is Drishyam 2. The Ajay Devgn starrer is a good choice amongst the audience till date and that can well be seen from Rs. 0.80 crores* more that it earned on Tuesday. The film was expected to be more in Rs. 50 lakhs zone during the weekdays and even that would have been quite nice considering it’s in the sixth week. Still, the numbers are exceeding expectations and that has been the case with the film right from the day of release. Standing at Rs. 229.54 crores* currently, the Abhishek Pathak directed film is now heading for a lifetime in excess of Rs. 235 crores.

Speaking to IANS, the filmmaker expressed that it was sad that Tunisha Sharma took such a drastic step at such a young age. “It is a very sad and disappointing news that at such a young age of 20 she took a drastic step without thinking about her mother and others in the family," Abbas said. “Today’s generation certain times don’t think much, but taking such a step is never right."

Abbas said that it was impossible to believe she is no more. He said, “We worked with her in the movie and we cannot believe, having known her, that she could take such a step."

EXCLUSIVE: Bhumi Pednekar on pay parity in Bollywood: ‘If the budget is Rs. 125 crore, the males get a good two-digit figure but then they want me to be thankful’

Bollywood Hungama hosted its roundtable with actresses who made a mark in 2022 in films. Bhumi Pednekar, Tamannaah Bhatia were amongst the actresses who were in attendance along with Rakul Preet Singh, Alaya F and Huma Qureshi. The actresses spoke about several aspects of their careers including the discussion around pay parity and whether things have changed at all over the past few years.

Speaking at the Bollywood Hungama Actresses Round Table 2022 presented by Astroyogi, Tammanaah Bhatia said that women have to build a strong market for themselves to move ahead whereas Rakul Preet Singh noted that they is still a long road ahead in terms of pay parity. Bhumi Pednekar then said, “I could have as many Rs. 100 or Rs. 200 crore films as my male co-star. I may be appreciated for my work but it’s a norm that I will not be paid as close to what he is being paid”. She added that the change has to come from every corner.

She further said, “The disparity was also in the west but the men there stood up for women. They said either they will take a pay cut or get them the same remuneration. And while I don’t want anyone to stand up for me, there has to be empathy. One needs to acknowledge the issue.”

However, Huma Qureshi said that male actors have created a market for themselves over the years. “But we should also understand that the males have created a market over years. We cannot pitch 10 female films with the 100s they have,” she said.

Adding further, Bhumi said, “If the budget is Rs. 125 crore, the males get a good two-digit figure but then they want me to be thankful. You have come to me because I add a certain amount of credibility but they always make it sound like an opportunity.” Rakul Preet Singh said that it is because the actresses are replaceable in the movies.

On the work front, Bhumi Pednekar starred in two movies this year – Badhaai Do and Govinda Naam Mera. Bhumi will now be seen in films like Anubhav Sinha’s Bheed, Ajay Bahl’s The Ladykiller, Sudhir Mishra’s Afwaah, Gauri Khan produced Bhakshak, Mudassar Aziz’s Mere Husband Ki Biwi and a couple of more unannounced projects that will push the bar for cinema.

Tunisha Sharma Death Case: CCTV footage shows Sheezan Khan rushing her to hospital; was in tears & kept telling the doctor to save her

In one of the shocking and tragic news, television actress Tunisha Sharma, who played Shehzaadi Mariam in Ali Baba Dastaan-E-Kabul, allegedly died by suicide on December 24 on the sets of the fantasy-themed show at Vasai in Maharashtra's Palghar district. The actress was only 20 and this news left the nation in shock. Her last rites were conducted on Tuesday, December 27 in presence of her family, friends and industry colleagues. Many TV celebrities were in attendance. Now, CCTV footage has gone viral on social media which shows Sheezan Khan rushing Tunisha to the nearby hospital along with unit members of the show.

A crew member is seen carrying Tunisha Sharma in his arms along with Sheezan Khan and a female crew member. The doctor who first saw the actress said that Khan was in crying continuously and that he was asking the doctor to save her. Doctor Honey Mittal of F&B hospital at Vasai told Mid-Day, “On Saturday around 4.10 pm, about 3-4 people arrived at the hospital with Tunisha Sharma. Her co-actor Sheezan Khan was also with them and he told me to save her anyhow. He was crying continuously. But her body was cold and when we checked her eyes there was no movement. We also did a confirmatory test and an ECG but we found a flat line and declared her dead. We also found a strangulation mark on her neck during the physical examination. Someone strangulated her or she hanged herself. We informed the cops about the body.”

“Khan was there late and crying continuously. He kept requesting me to save her. Tunisha was dead when she was brought to the hospital,” Dr Mittal said.

It is primary information. Our team is on the spot and they are investigating. We will take everyone's statement."

DCP Chandrakant Jadhav spoke to the media and said that the death is under investigation. "Tunisha Sharma, who was working on the sets of Alibaba Dastaan E Kabul has died by suicide. She hanged herself. Her mother has filed a complaint against Sheezan (Khan) for abetment to suicide. Sheezan Mohd who worked with her in the show as Alibaba. (There were reports that she was pregnant.) There is no report on this," he told the media, as per Times Of India.

Tunisha Sharma Death Case: Mother of the late actress issues statement after sister of Sheezan Khan requests media to give them ‘privacy’

The demise of television actress Tunisha Sharma has embroiled into a major controversy with her suicide leading to several legal allegations against her Ali Baba: Dastan-e-Kabul co-star Sheezan Khan. The latter, who is also the alleged boyfriend of the actress, was arrested in relation to abetment to suicide. Although he has spoken to the media, the actor’s family issued an official statement, earlier today, requesting the media to give them privacy. On the other hand, a video of Tunisha’s mother talking about the case found its way on social media where she revealed that Khan used and ditched her daughter in the name of marrying her.

In the video that has been doing the rounds on Instagram, Tunisha Sharma’s mother Vanita Sharma said, “Main aap sab media walon ko yeh batana chahti hoon ki Sheezaan ne Tunisha ko dhoka diya. Uske saath mein ek relationship banaya. Shaadi ka wada karke usne Tunisha ke saath breakup kiya. Uska pehle kisi ladki ke saath involvement thi. Uske bawajood bhi Tanisha ko usne involved rakha apne saath. 3-4 mahine usko use kiya. Bas main itna kehna chah rahi hoon hoon ki usko sazaa milni chahiye, usko mat chodna. Mera bachha gaya hai. Baaki media bahut cooperate kar rahi hai. Tahe dil se shukriya karti hoon. (I want to tell all of the media houses that Sheezan betrayed my daughter Tunisha. He was in relationship with her. After promising to marry her, he broke up with her. Before that, he was also involved with another girl. Despite that, he was involved with Tunisha and used her for 3 to 4 months. Her video came after the Khan family issued a statement about Sheezan cooperating with the police, where they stated, “We have full faith in the Indian judiciary system, and Sheezan is cooperating with the Mumbai police through all the procedures. We will talk about this when the time is right, but for now, please allow us the privacy which our family deserves right now.”

Karnataka is the FIRST state to make masks mandatory in theatres; recent surge in Covid cases in China unlikely to affect Avatar: The Way Of Water’s business in India

Over the last week, the news of rising Covid cases in China has been making news worldwide. The neighbouring country practiced the zero-Covid strategy since the beginning of the pandemic. As part of this strategy, cities and districts would be locked down even if a single case was detected. After the citizens put up a huge protest across the country, the Chinese government decided to remove most of the Covid-related curbs. It immediately led to an insane increase in Covid cases and also hospitalizations and deaths. Meanwhile, countries like South Korea, Thailand, and the USA etc also reported a surge in Coronavirus cases. It led to fear that it might lead to another wave in India.

Since the last few days, all states are on alert mode with the central government even asking for random testing of 2% of passengers arriving from international flights. While the states have avoided putting any restrictions, Karnataka has decided to make the mask rule compulsory in indoor spaces, including cinemas. Today, on December 26, the health minister of the Southern state, K Sudhakar, told the media that wearing masks will be mandatory in movie theatres, schools and colleges. That’s not all. Patrons will have to wear masks when they ring in the New Year in pubs, restaurants and pubs. Also, New Year celebrations will be required to end before 1:00 am.

Trade experts feel that mandatory use of masks will not impact footfalls in any way. A trade source said, “Though a lot of brouhaha has been made over the rise of cases in China, there’s no fear among the public as it was in 2020 and 2021. The experts have also clarified that the variant causing cases in China has been in India for a long time. Hence, the cinema business is unlikely to get affected, even if the mask rule is implemented.”

An industry insider remarked, “Yesterday, on Christmas, holiday spots like hill stations and restaurants and pubs across the country were full and crowded. The same goes for cinema halls. Sunday saw a big turnout in cinemas, especially for Avatar: The Way Of Water. In Karnataka’s capital city Bengaluru, it is running to house full shows even on weekdays. A few other states might also implement the mask rule but it’ll not make the public fear venturing into the theatres and multiplexes. As of now, all is fine and all eyes are on the big Pongal releases like Ajith-starrer Thunivu and Vijay-starrer Varisu, followed by Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan on Republic Day.”

Trade and industry sources are also confident that at the most, states might ask moviegoers to wear masks in cinemas. Rules like 50% occupancy are unlikely to be enforced.

Cirkus Box Office Estimate Day 4: Ranveer Singh starrer drops by over 60% on Day 4; likely to collect Rs. 2.50 cr.

The Ranveer Singh starrer Cirkus that hit screens last week on December 23 has been facing a tough time at the box office. Directed by Rohit Shetty the film which was expected to be one of the biggest money spinners of 2022, ending the year with a bang seems to have hit a brick wall. With less than appreciative reviews, and immense competition the business of the film has been rather dismal. After a slow start, on Friday, the collections of Cirkus did witness growth. However, it was too little too late.

Now, as its fourth day comes to a close, early estimates paint a rather bleak image. As per trade estimates, the business of Cirkus has seen a massive drop of over 60% in collections on Day 4 as compared to its opening day collections of Rs. 6.25 cr. In fact, going by these trends Cirkus which managed to draw in Rs. 20.85 cr. over its opening weekend is likely to see a paltry Rs. 2.50 cr. to Rs. 2.60 cr. coming in on its first Monday, Day 4. But, on the other hand, the big-ticket Hollywood entertainer Avatar: The Way of Water which released a week before Cirkus, has seen further growth in collections.

Currently, trade buzz states that with Cirkus underperforming Avatar: The Way of Water has benefited immensely. If that was not enough, with shows of Cirkus being dropped in certain locations, the previously released Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 2 has also see a revival of sorts at the box office.

All in all, given the current scenario, the business of Cirkus is heading into a downward spiral. With lacklustre reviews, and un-appreciative word of mouth the business of the film is unlikely to see much growth.
